What's Your Story

The Artist Formerly Known as The Outlaw, Tommy Smith, was commissioned by Panama City, Florida by birth, Arkansas Razorback by choice, David Bazzel,  to do a show about some of the greatest songs that are about true life events. From The Guess Who with 'American Woman' being a protest of The Vietnam War, Don Henley's, 'All She wants To Do Is Dance', speaks of the United States and the people of Nicaragua, and the song with the most votes,'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald' by Gordon Lightfoot. There were a good many more that were nominated. 'Hotel California', 'You're So Vain', and 'Tears In Heaven' to just name a few. It was a good topic and a lot of fun. You learn a ton about music from Tommy's years of experience and you learn as much about the inner workings of the mind of David when he hums a few bars of a song. Both can make your head explode! But, in a good way.

This was just another attempt at getting away from the topic of The Arkansas Razorbacks basketball. It worked just fine too. Now don't get me wrong. We are a sports show. And sports is our number one priority but, it is equally as important for those of us on The Show With No Name to not cause pain to you, our valued friends and listeners. We will get back to the Hogs soon enough I promise.

Johnny White stopped in with word of a golf tournament at Greystone Golf Course in Cabot. There is also a vote coming up in April in that little bedroom community that Tommy calls home. A sports complex for the entire family is thought to be long overdue so, it's fate will be decided around the middle of April.

Danny-Joe Crofford and Amy Jones informed, educated, and just down right told us about this years Relay For Life of Little Rock. April 19th at The Clinton Library. If ya didn't hear all the details, just call 'em up at 1-800-227-2345 or register online at, WWW.RELAYFORLIFE.ORG.

Tommy and I went out and played some golf after the show today. I didn't really want to but, as Baz said, "we owe it to our listeners" to go and survey the course at Rebsamen before the station puts on its tourney. It's shaping up nicely by the way. You're welcome!

Have a great rest of your day.

Tommy, David, RJ, and myself thank you for listening and making The Show With No Name your #1 station!
