This morning on The Show With No Name started off like a scene from One Flew Over The Cuckoo Nest! The Artist Formerly Known As The Outlaw Tommy Smith started smashing his cell phone with a hammer. Of course it could have been worse. I didn't have to suggested to his partner in crime, RJ Hawk to take the phone off of the glass top first! Well he did and began pounding the phone. He says that it is in protest of all the texting that is going on in the world. Namely and more specifically by me, little Roger Scott, because of my keeping in touch with the world while on Eagle Hill Golf Course yesterday. Not that I need it but, in my defense, I was responding to my Twitter account and took one call, one stinking call that was for him about those stupid a** moles that have lived under his yard for, oh I don't know,............FOREVER!!! Shame on me for wanting to stay in touch with the outside world just in case I get a call from the bone marrow data place....thingy.....and I could save the life of a child or even YOU!! So I hope the dying person can hold on just a little bit longer so I can finish up a putt and replace a divot!
Oh I guess it wasn't so bad. That is until my buddy pal David Bazzel wanted to take his turn behind the wheel of that bus! He just couldn't wait to inform those listening that I have an addiction to texting. Ridiculous!! Sure he thinks that he saw me texting at the Film Forum but, I was not. Not all the time that is. I text my family to stay in touch and also a couple of messages from the Artist Formerly Known As The Outlaw Tommy Smith!! Yes that same guy from up above in this here blog! But mainly I was playing Brick Breaker. I had a high score going too.
Well, after we had the session of me having to cleanse my soul with help from my friends, we did have Tim Jackson in to speak about a "Short" film he has on the legendary Lamar Porter Field. Also, it was talking about a list of religious films we've all seen. You know. Ten Commandments, Passion of The Christ, The Robe, Smokey and The Bandit, and the like.
A round of Beat The Baz with songs that had either a religious tone or maybe just a name from The Bible in the lyrics.
All good and all fun today. besides, I have no complaints. I love my job, the people I work with, and getting to talk with and hang out with listeners at all The Buzz events. It also doesn't hurt that I get the usage all Spring and Summer of a Gravely Zero-Turn Mower! BOOOOOMM!! Yea that's right. It got delivered yesterday! So take that and smoke the pipe Tommy, David, and RJ!!
Tomorrow we are at Frank Fletcher Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Sherwood.
Talk atcha tomorrow.
Tommy, David, RJ, and myself thank you for listening and making The Show With No Name your #1 station!
