Humpday Eve

It's National Fly a Kite Day and don't think The Show with No Name didn't take advantage of that. We had a listener drop off a couple of kites and during a top of the hour break, David assembled his and was running around the parking lot trying his best to launch it. He said he felt like across between Benjamin Franklin and the wright brothers. That's probably because Tommy was like the folks watching those guys so many years ago thinking they were nuts! It just wasn't windy enough at all to get it to fly more than the two feet behind him at a dead run.

Liz from EM Jeans called and talked about us being at the store last week. Tommy has three pair of Jeans to try on. I told him that they  can hem the length for him in no time when he decides which waist fits him best. He and David pointed out that I'm the only one that needs their pants length fixed. They are such height snobs.

We played music trying to figure which songs were best for us to sing this Friday night at Denton's Trotline. We may break loose with some Tony Orlando, John Denver,or Glen Campbell. If that doesn't scare you or make you throw up a little in your mouth, come on out Friday night beginning at 6pm. Ryan Couran takes the stage at 9pm. The ladies love him because he wears tight jeans with a big belt buckle and the guys love him because he brings the ladies out. Since 1948 The Band Box and more recently The Box have been serving up great hamburgers from the historic location on 17Th and Main. Well today new owner brought a box load of the famous sandwiches to the station. Whenever food come around the Signal Media employees that don't listen to the show have super human sniffers. In the case of these burgers it's a good thing. Tommy wanted to make sure they were delivered wrapped in wax paper and placed in a brown paper bag. This way he can see the grease, or juice as we call it in the South, seeping through the sack. He, nor any of the lucky few that got a burger. were disappointed. The Box is closing for about a month and will reopen at 7Th and Ringo. No worries. The owners are taking the old grill with the 60 plus years of flavor soaked in.

Tomorrow our friend and partner David Bazzel is away from the station but not off work. Mr. Constantly on the Move is in Dallas for some Fourth Quarter Production business to attend. It's Wednesday so Steve 'Wildman" Wilson and  Miss Lindy Blackstone come hang with us. Special in studio guest will be Jerry Van Dyke. We will discuss his recent movie and I'm told will call his brother Dick who will be in Hot Springs for some charity work. Sounds like the recipe for a good show. I hope you will join us.

Thanks for listening and making The Buzz 103.7 your #1 station. Join The Show With No Name from 6a-10a Mon-Fri with Tommy Smith, David Bazzel, Danny-Joe Crofford and myself.
