The End of Summer

7/21/2009 10:31 AM

LIttle Rock - My friends, summer is just about over.  SEC Football Media Days starts in Hoover, Alabama, tomorrow and the start of the 2009 College Football season is almost here.

I had a great summer, and hope you are as well.  My family and I took a vacation to Los Angeles back in June and we just so happend to get 3 tickets to game 2 of the NBA Finals where the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic.  Derek Fisher hit some key 3's to help the Lakers claim their 15th NBA title.  Kobe and Derek now have 4 rings together.  We also went to Disneyland where I was able to keep up with the Razorback baseball team as they were playing in Tallahassee, Florida sweeping Florida state and becomming the first team to secure their spot in the College World Series, technology is amazing.

The CWS in Omaha was a blast.  Dave Van Horn went into this CWS never winning a game in Omaha.  He won 2.  Statrting with a beat down of Cal - State Fullerton, and a dramatic comeback win over Virginia.  Two losses to LSU should not dampen the spirits of the Hogs.  Next year if the Razorbacks are fortunate to get back to Omaha, look for them to be in the final best 2 out of 3 championship series.  What a way it would be to possibly win a national championship in the last CWS ever played at Rosenblatt Stadium.

So long to summer and hello football talk.  It all starts tomorrow and we will be there to get you pumped and ready for SEC Football!!!
