EAST Initiative
Did you know more than 13,000 Arkansas students are changing their communities each day through participation in EAST? Did you know that one of the most exciting and powerful educational initiatives of the 21st Century was founded right here in Arkansas? The EAST Initiative began in Greenbrier, in 1995 with one teacher, in one classroom of 20 students. Today, 175 Arkansas schoolsare participating in EAST. The EAST Initiative is an innovative educational model that engages students in sophisticated service-learning projects that involve real teamwork and cutting-edge technology.
