Press Release Issued 11/5/12

“OVERTIME” BEGINS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH

LITTLE ROCK, AR. (NOV 5, 2012): Former Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Matt Jones will join current 103.7 The Buzz contributor Trey Schaap as the two make their debut with “Overtime” on Monday, November 12th at 1pm. “Overtime” will fill the time slot currently held by “Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly” from 1 to 4pm, Mattingly’s last day on 103.7 The Buzz will be Friday, November 9th.

“Bo came to us a few weeks ago to let us know of his desire to sever the relationship between his company and 103.7 The Buzz. We were surprised by the decision, but wish him nothing but the best as he continues in his career.” said Justin Acri, Program Director of 103.7 The Buzz “We are thrilled about being able to put together what we think will be a high-quality and extremely entertaining show with a Razorback legend in Matt Jones and a very talented and experienced broadcaster in Trey Schaap. Matt has great name recognition, but has also proven himself to be an excellent broadcaster in the limited time he has been on The Buzz this fall. We think this enhances our already very attractive lineup and we hope the listeners will be as excited as we are about “Overtime with Matt Jones and Trey Schaap”.

“We are very excited to have Matt Jones joining our team here at The Buzz,” said Steve Jonsson, Vice President of Signal Media of Arkansas, “We feel that Matt is an established brand here in Arkansas and he will bring a valuable and experienced opinion to our already dynamic programming lineup.”

Matt Jones is an Arkansas native, born in Fort Smith and later moving to Van Buren where he attended High School until his senior year. He then went on to become a star quarterback at Northside High School in Fort Smith as well as a sprinter on the track team. In college, Jones excelled as a star athlete at the University of Arkansas where he played not only football, but basketball as well. He would go on to be drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL where he showed the same speed and explosive playmaking ability at wide receiver that had wowed Arkansas fans in previous years. He retired from the NFL in 2010 and has since returned to his home state of Arkansas. Matt has since become a valued contributor throughout the football season here at 103.7 The Buzz. “I’m very excited to begin my broadcast career at The Buzz,” said Jones “I’m really looking forward to joining such a talented staff and a great organization.”

Fellow Arkansas native Trey Schaap was born in Little Rock where he attended Parkview High School as well as the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Schaap began his broadcasting career at WCBI-TV in Columbus, MS where after a short stint he returned home to KARK-TV in Little Rock. Trey joined Signal Media in January of 2004 where he has since played a pivotal role in High School coverage as well as with Razorback Athletics and the Southeastern Conference. When asked about his expectations for “Overtime” Schaap said “I am really looking forward to kicking off what will be not only an entertaining, but also extremely informative show here on The Buzz. I saw in person the ability of Matt Jones on the field and I’m excited about joining him on the air.”

“Overtime” with Matt Jones and Trey Schaap will launch on Monday, November 12th and will run Monday through Friday 1-4pm. The show will feature show highlights and content updates available on the internet at www.1037thebuzz.com.
