The Show With No Name

Bruiser Bruce

10/11/2011 12:19 PM

Bruiser Bruce James was in the studio this morning compliments of Arkansas Federal Credit Union. He gives away $103.70 every Tuesday during the time he is on between 6:30 and 8:00. Just listening to Bruce talk about football is a lesson I enjoy. When we're at break I get to ask him questions about his playing days at Arkansas. He shows me a few techniques from time to time. The man could snap me in two with his bare hands. Have I mentioned that I think he is the greatest ever? Bruce said something today about  Tyler Wilson. First, you must know, he does not like any quarterback. Never has and never will. Secondly, he said Tyler Wilson is the toughest quarterback ever to play for the Razorbacks. Yep, he sure did. That's high praise from a guy most think doesn't like the Hogs. That of course is ludacris since he was one of the guys that made them the object of our affection that they are today.

The Hogs having their bye week signals the halfway point of the season and so it's time for the Midseason Grades. Now The Show With No Name grades on a curve. The Homer Curve I believe is the technical term. The Razorbacks were not the only subject we graded. With our expertise it would be a waste to not critique others in the SEC.

The Red Beans and Rice Bowl is this weekend in Conway. UCA plays McNeese State and more than just football is on the menu. The game is called the Red Beans and Rice Bowl to inform us how important rice is to both Arkansas and Louisiana. The ball game starts at 3 p.m. but, starting at 10 a.m. and going to 1 p.m., you're invited to come out to Arvest Bank on Donaghey Road and get free red beans and rice, hot dogs, door prizes. All proceeds benefit the Arkansas Rice Depot. Gary with the Rice Depot and Melanie with Moe's dropped by to give us a few more details.

Tomorrow I'm not sure if Tommy will be in studio but, Steve 'Wild Man' Wilson and Lindy will be.
