Show With No Name

What-Up Wednesday

2/8/2012 10:13 AM

Starting out every Wednesday with Steve 'Wild Man' Wilson is always a learning experience for me. Today was even more special because of the topic. Steve Fowler was in speaking about quail and the upcoming Bobwhite quail program on tap for Nature Center. As the agency’s Quail Program Coordinator, Steve Fowler will be the featured speaker at the program scheduled for Feb. 9, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in Little Rock. That's all fine and dandy. The big excitement for me this morning on The Show With No Name was two things. David Bazzel throwing out the term topography and to hear Baz once again display his award winning covey of quail impression!

Promotions Director in waiting, Matt Couch, was in today. We found out that Mr. Couch has texted in upwards of 220 times in one day.....to one person! WOW! That's correct. 220! Now his new duties at Signal Media have him making that many at any given time throughout the day, but he has recently begun a relationship with a new young someone. That's the 220 text to one person that I speak. Love is a many splendored thing, ain't it.

It's always fun & games on the morning show. And Wednesday brings the ever popular Match Game with Matt Couch. Normally, we may get to several games in a segment. Problem is we are running out of things to give away. Scarce even these days are the consolation prizes for the runners-up. Or is it runner-ups? Anyway, so much so that I told Matt that I had 3 or 4 extra new Saline County phone books left under my mail box yesterday that I could bring in for prizes if he would like. He hasn't gotten back......no wait here is now...."yea"...."sure"...."about 4 of them"......" late Couch"....... Good news! If you are a winner in the next couple of days on The Show With No Name you'll get something but, it's a surprise!

Celebrity Apprentice begins in a couple of weeks on NBC. Calm down, calm down. Me too. Big fan of the show. One of the contestants on this season is Debbie Gibson. In 1988 she was pronounced the youngest artist to write, produce, and perform a No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, with her song "Foolish Beat" and she remains the youngest female to write, record, and perform a No. 1 single to date. Add to that, the youngest female to write, record, and perform a No. 1 single to date that has appeared on The Show with No Name. BoOoOoM!

David mentioned a fact he heard on the Razorback basketball team today. The fact that they have never had a season where they did not have a road win. Easy enough to believe right? Right. Only now that it's coming down to sink or swim time. The only reason I don't believe we fans are going nuts about that so much is, the fact that we are also undefeated at home with a chance to make the NCAA tourney still within reach. We all agree though that a road win may be a must to make the tourney even if we manage to win out the remainder at home and have 20 wins for the regular season. Regardless of all that, I know we all will be callin' our Hogs tonite!

Tomorrow we are LIVE at Ava Bella Day Spa! Yep. Gonna get my massage on during the show. I mean what a country. the greatest one ever in fact. While getting that done we will be able to chow down with Down Home Catering setting up a spread for us. Take that Al Qaeda!!
