Show With No Name

Arkansas History

3/13/2012 1:12 PM

The Show With No Name was LIVE at The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center this morning.  Yes, as hard as it may be to believe, Tommy, David, and myself, learned a lot. You need to do yourself and your family a favor and visit the Center. Located at 501 West 9th. Museum Hours Tuesday through Saturday 9 am to 5 pm
Admission is Free! Did you read me loud enough? FREE! Now I know what you're thinking. That's the only reason that little Roger Scott would go. Not true. I wouldn't have gone in the past because I'm just plan dumb about things like Museums. This particular place boast that it is Museum of African American History. It is, sure. But, it is more than that as I see it. It's a Museum of Arkansas History that many may never know about unless you walk in the doors at 501 West 9th Street. I would be guilty of that more than likely if we hadn't have been invited to broadcast there today.  Muskie Harris has been a force for the Museum and he spearheaded getting us there and I for one am glad he did. The Dir. of Public Programs, Jennelle Primm, welcomed us in with open arms. Maybe she hadn't heard the show before. We were then given as much of a tour as we could while there by The Director, H.L. McGill. If you're lucky enough to have him guide you around, H.L. will make the tour very enjoyable.

Today the Cultural Center was honoring African American Arkansas Razorback Women Athletes. Our guest honorees included Erma Greer, Cynthia Moore, Diann Ousley, and Lisa Sparks-Walker. All of these ladies are deserving of the accolades for their achievements. They did so much more than set track records and go undefeated at home in basketball. Marks that remain still to this day in some cases.

The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is a museum for all Arkansans to learn about our past. Good and bad no doubt. But, it is our past. There is more good I assure you.

Of course we wouldn't be us if we didn't do some stup....er....uh...silly stuff. David Bazzel does have photos of me sitting on the back of a life size cast iron Camel!

Remember you don't have to buy a new car to be treated like you did. Fletcher Dodge has a wide selection of cars to fit every budget. Just for stopping by and talking with the Fletcher guys you get dinner for two at Benihana Japanese Steakhouse.

Check out THIS WEEKS deals. 2009 Toyota Carolla Sport, 34 mpg, 45k miles, only $14888.
