The Show With No Name

Friday In The Springs

3/16/2012 5:43 PM

The Show With No Name was in Hot Springs today. More specifically, Oaklawn Park. We love going down to Hot Springs. We get to stay in the luxurious Hot Springs Vacation Rentals condos on the lake, eat dinner at J&S Italian Villa (most times), and spend time with our friends like,  Terry Wallace. OK, OK! Yes we get paid to do all those things, sure. What? It doesn't take away from the fact that we dig us some Hot Water City. Anyway, Terry has been on a roll picking horses since his retirement as track announcer. You can hang out with Terry every Saturday morning from 8 to 10 a.m. for a “behind-the-scenes” at Oaklawn. Watch the horses training on the track while you get his picks and hear from some of Oaklawn's top racing experts. Free coffee and donuts too! Now see there, you can get free stuff in Hot springs also. Kind makes us even now doesn't it. Maybe a little? A tiny little bit? Lets just move on.

What is a Hoya? As in Georgetown Hoya.  Ross Cranford of  Cranford-Johnson-Robinson-Woods was and is one. He threw out that little nugget of trivia in keeping with our NCAA Tourney talk. We finally got the definitive answer on that one but, when I ask about a head coach named Buzz that was up for the Hog round ball gig last year it got a little confusing. All in all that was a fun segment. It had  David laughing and  Tommy scratching his head. And it had Ross nodding off at times having to listen to us. Just like it does you at times. We do appreciate the heck out of yo waking back up though.

RJ Hawk was out of the studio contemplating driving down to New Orleans. Whether he did or not I don't know. Truth be told, I think he took the day off to interview with a TV production company. Seems our Mr. Hawk may be a star on a redneck version of Survivor! Not to worry though. He left morning show producing duties in the capable hands of one Matt 'Big Baby' Travis.

Matt didn't know that we were on the road this morning and made a pot of coffee for the guys. Now, on a scale of 1-10, I'd have to say 'Big Baby' is a good boy!

Monday we start the first round of the Babe Bracket! Let the name calling begin.

Have a great weekend! I'll talk atcha Monday. That is unless I bump into at Wal-Mart beforehand.

Remember you don't have to buy a new car to be treated like you did. Fletcher Dodge has a wide selection of cars to fit every budget. Just for stopping by and talking with the Fletcher guys you get dinner for two at Benihana Japanese Steakhouse.

Check out THIS WEEKS deals. 2009 Toyota Carolla Sport, 34 mpg, 45k miles, only $14888.

Or this 2011 Kia Forte 2 door Coupe, brilliant red, great gas mileage, just $16997
