Gravely Tour 2012.......We've Only Just Begun

5/18/2012 11:08 AM

I won't keep ya long today. It was kind of a bitter/sweet day on The Show With No Name. We had a LIVE broadcast in Gravel Ridge, Arkansas.  Gravel Ridge, Arkansas......population 3232 plus....SAAAAALUTE!! Gravel Ridge Small Engine is where we were for the last spot on the Gravely tour for this year. Yea it does put a tear in my eye. It's tears of joy in some respect. We will not be seeing our Gravely family of distributors for a year. If your lucky enough to have a Gravely Zero-Turn as I am, your time with the American Made piece of yard cuttin' art has really only just begun!

Not much audio from today's show. Two reasons. Number one is because RJ Hawk had to (  ) and get to Fayetteville for the High School Baseball Championships. The number two reason is that a local agency, Federal Alliance Keeping Ethics that oversees the entertainment and information provided by radio stations received an anonymous letter that asked the agency to monitor our show. All that we were allowed to keep was a segment that Keith Carter was able to hide that included some pretty innocent conversation with new intern Julie. And David Bazzel commenting that Patrick Bazzel...er...uh...Swayze was in possibly two of the greatest movies ever made. Dirty Dancing and Road House are the ones he mentioned. Then James Ballentine reminded him about Wolverine! That was all Swayzell, I mean Bayze..dadgummit! That's all that DAVID BAZZEL needed to hear and he became adamant he was right!!

We of course paid our respects to Queen of Disco, Donna Summer. We all remember her and if nothing else it signals that we are getting older ourselves. RIP Donna.

The big Arkansas sports story is the one concerning AD Jeff Long being sought after by Stanford. Fact or fiction is unknown at the time I'm writing this but, be sure that we will know more by Monday with the arrival of Harry King. I can't believe I just said that. I'm out.
