Film Day Fri Day
6/1/2012 2:21 PM
Tommy Smith took a day off from The Show With No Name so he could run some errands for Karen and spend the day with her before she heads out of town for a week. The stories that he will tell while she is gone should be very entertaining. You know The Artist Formerly Known As The Outlaw is going to get himself into some kind of a mess. It's not that he tries to by any means. Anyone that's married just can't function in the same capacity when their wife is not around. I will stand corrected if at sometime he doesn't break something or bleed. Fingers crossed.
David Bazzel was lead dog on the program today. You know he is not gonna run us in the ditch. We paid homage to the Little Rock Film Festival by having Movie Line Friday. This was a bit that The Baz did in the early days of his radio career at The Buzz. It's a fun way to end a week for sure. I wouldn't mind doing it a couple times a month. But, that's just me. I'm a gambler. Mr. Isle of Capri.
Although we did have the lines stacked and packed with the movie talk and favorite soda poll, I was able to throw out The Stupid Question of the Day. That went well and got Doug a free lunch at The Butcher Shop. It was week 1 of Steak Burger Friday for the month of June. Had a few folks question me on my taste of always wanting catsup. I do love it so. With that steak burger you get fries and a soda. Only Coke products are available at Al Watkin's Butcher Shop. No Pepsi, My favorite or Mountain Dew, Davids favorite. But, the one thing we agree on, is we will settle for a Coke or Dr. Pepper if that's all that is offered. RJ Hawk will just say screw it and have water. Youth is so wasted on the young.
Settle down now. Of course we talked sports. It is what we do. Duh. The NBA, Hockey, and Razorback Baseball was on the table. The length of the conversation pertained mostly to Hog Baseball. Including a call from our roving reporter, Trey Schap. The Schapster was in Houston, Texas and called us from the driving range.....er.....uh......on deck circle, on deck circle with the latest on the Diamond Hogs.
Andrea stopped by for an end of the week visit. Tim and Sam Jackson brought the knowledge of movies. Rasslin' Man came in just to sing Happy Birthday to Marnie. He said he was her baby sitter some 30 years ago. I don't believe him. I think he just broke into her house and her Papa Walker and brother Grant held him down til the cops got there. Regardless of what I think of him, Marnie was worth the song being sung. Happy Birthday Marnie Walker Sharp.
Have a great weekend Hope to talk atcha Monday.
