Name That Tune

Today The Show With No Name started off the program by stating, that without a doubt, the King of Arkansas Razorback basketball is Nolan Richardson. It is past the time that we name something after the man for his accomplishments to our basketball program. We're talking about at the very least, the court. I was upset that he left the way he did like a lot of folks but, as The Artist Formerly Known as The Outlaw, Tommy Smith said Nolan wasn't talking to me when he made reference to the 'White Devil'. He was speaking about Frank Broyles. Coach Broyles has a statue. About dang time! The man ticked off a list of very good coaches along the way to making the Arkansas Razorbacks something that is more dear to us than one or two of our own children. You know it's true. Anyway, the subject of naming something after Nolan was mentioned because we should also name something after the man that made the Hogs more than just a football state, Eddie Sutton. Coach Sutton was another that we hated leaving of course but, when he said he would 'crawl to Kentucky', it gave the red gluteus maximus to a great deal of us! But again, come on man! It was Mr. Broyles that upset him. We all have at one time or another taken leave of our senses to get out from under tough conditions at work. Heck fire, I'm pretty close to someone that did that same thing not too long ago. Hopefully, time will heal those wounds and the ones created by Coach Sutton. Those have to be scabbing up by now don't ya think? Maybe we could name at least the concourse after him. It might be just the thing that keeps him alive a little bit longer.
Ray Tucker was in to talk about The Arkansas Sports Hall Of Fame banquet which is this weekend and Muskie Harris spoke about the event at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Arkansas Razorbacks African American Athletes. Big names being honored at both places. I've been told not to say who they are or it will cost the station big bucks. Well, if I could remember any of the names that Ray said I would but, I don't. As for the Mosaic Templar, as many folks from Razorback teams that played on the '76 Cotton Bowl, Hogs 31, Georgia 10! And the '78 Orange Bowl, Hogs 31 Oklahoma 6! There I said it. Or at least typed it anyway. And I'm sorry I'm NOT sorry. WOO PIG SOOIE!!
Tomorrow we have Matt Couch, some grub from Cajun Noodle in Lonoke, and RJ Hawk explains what he was doing at the stop light over the weekend.
Tommy, David, RJ, and myself thank you for listening and making The Show With No Name your #1 station!
