The Zone

It was an up-and-down down to say the least in the Zone.   We started on a high with a call-in by Tyler Hansbrough who, along with his UNC teammates, earned a national championship Monday night over Michigan State.  He was great to talk to about achieving the goal that he and his mates set out to reach at then end of last season.

Later in the first hour we received the tragic news about the death of former Arkansas Traveler Nick Adenhart who was killed (along with two others) in a hit-and-run accident after pitching six scoreless innings against Oakland.  The voice of the Travs, Phil Elson, called in and remembered a rising star who was taken at the tender age of 22.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Adenhart family and the Angels organization including our friends with the Travs.  A Fullerton PD spokesman says the man who caused the accident that killed Nick and two others was under the influence of alcohol at the time.  22-year-old Andrew Gallo was also driving on a suspended license because of a prior DUI. Reports indicate that Gallo will probably be booked on felony hit-and-run, felony DUI, vehicular manslaughter and possibly murder.

On a much lighter note, we also heard from NFL linebacker Dhani Jones who is speaking at the Clinton School of Public Service on Friday night.  He talked about how he wants to be defined and his work in TV.

If you missed the entertainment report.  We played a portion of an interview Arkansas native Billy Bob Thornton had on a radio show in Canada.  DON'T CALL HIM AN ACTOR MAN!!

Join Pat tonight for happy hour at the Mexico Chiquito on HW 10 and again at On the Rocks for a chance to win a Yamaha Bike with Richards Yamaha, 10:30pm to 12:30am, sign up to win a brand new VSTAR 950 from Star Motorcycles!  Should be fun.

Tomorrow in the Zone the Website of the Week and the Freaky Clip of the Week.  Tune in for more fun as we wrap up a great week Friday in the Zone!
