The Zone

Last Show of 2011!

12/30/2011 9:36 AM

...and what a show it was!  We had interviews, fun and DEALS from our friends at Landers Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep in Benton (exit 121).

It's been two years since Jermain Taylor has been in the ring and five years since he has worked with his first pro trainer Pat Burns.  They are back together as Jermain tries to take step one on the way to another title.  We spoke to both Jermain and to Pat Burns on Thursday to talk about their relationship being rekindled and his plan for fighting Jessie Nicklow.  Count us at The Buzz as cautiously optimistic that this repairing could result in another world title for the former undisputed middleweight champion of the world!

Also talked a lot of football as it is a HUGE weekend for the NFL and for bowl games this weekend.  Brent Crow of sportsmemo.com came in to give us his picks in some of the key games...oh and if you missed it...the Baylor game that included Heisman winner RGIII

went WAY over the number!  You can listen in to Brent's thoughts here.

And last but certainly not least-Spencer Hall of everydayshouldbesaturday.com

came in to give us his thoughts on the new SEC schedule, how Arkansas should round out its schedule, some of the bowl games and the Cotton Bowl specifically and his general musings.  This guy aint quite right, but I love his wicked sense of humor and appreciate him coming in whenever he can. You can enjoy his thoughts here.

I want to end this by thanking everyone at the Buzz who makes it possible to get our show on the air and to you the listener.  #1 on that list is Keith Carter our executive producer who ran the board for us this week when Joe and Pat were out.  Thank you to all of you listeners who have tuned in to The Zone in 2011.  I can admit we haven't always been great, but we always try really hard.  We will continue to work to be informative and fun for you in 2012. Have a safe and happy New Year's and we will talk to you next Monday as we ramp up for the 2012 Cotton Bowl!  Oh and by the way...we are giving out tickets to the Cotton Bowl Monday!
