Well....did I read that one wrong. The Hogs got blasted last night by Georgia in Georgia. So much for them shakin' off those road woes. Where do I begin? Tough, pretty much everything went wrong. Got outrebounded by twenty, no fastbreak points, too many jumpshots and I could go on and on.
This is what we all felt like last night, Tommy. Just gotta get back up one more time than you go down...
My 3Pointers go down like this:
1. Combine a good defensive performance by Georgia and bad shot selection early on the Hogs and that results in shooting 36% from the field. Gotta have patience, toughness and maturity on the road to get high quality possessions.
2. Road Recipe Results. Lost the rebounding battle 21 to 44. Hogs forced 11 turnovers and committed 8, not the ratio they're looking for.
3. Approach to the game. This team has shown it can put points on the board. Their success will always start on the defensive side. Their approach and focus from the tip needs to be how to create easier scoring opportunities off their defense. Not settling for the first open look. As Coach Richardson once told a teammate of mine after he shot an open jumper that clanged off the rim like a missile, "there's a reason why you're open son, they know you're gonna miss".
YOU HEAR THAT? HOG'S ARE GETTING READY TO MAKE A CHARGE!!!
I posted the picks for today at Oaklwn earlier from Jeff "Money" Taylor. Here's the audio from it.
Now get ready to laugh. Here is the clip of Will Ferrell announcing the starting lineups of the New Orleans Hornets and Chicago Bulls game last night. Enjoy.
