The Zone

Championship Monday

4/8/2013 1:20 PM

A Championship Monday to remember in The Zone.  Most of the conversation centered around the title tilt between Michigan and Louisville.  Should be a great game.  The Pigskin Preacher

dropped in to talk about the game and his love of the maize and blue.

We also got a call from country music star and Poyen native

Justin Moore who called IN to call OUT the Pigskin for his criticism of Justin's favorite genre.  The great thing about the exchange is they found quite a bit of common ground.

I hate to call out a kid,

but jockstrap to Texas sophomore WR Kendall Baldwin who got busted for a DUI in COLLEGE STATION.  Yes a University of Texas kid getting busted at 2:30am in Texas A&M's town.  An in-state rival visiting in town and breaking the law?  BAD IDEA!!

Kendall Sanders

Mack Brown the Texas head coach says he's disappointed...but he's not upset for the reasons he should be as we layed out for you in the Zone Segment of the Day.

Speaking of football, Tyler Wilson sat on

John Gruden's hotseat to start the week.

I think Gruden may be losing it, or just getting drunk on his own press and success, but this exchange was long on goof and short on analysis.

Back to hoops for a second...we broke down some of the key matchups in tonight's championship game with Doug Brodess of

bleacherreport.com.  We had Doug on all season and he was very insightful through the season as we talked college hoops.  Big gameball to Doug!

Tomorrow we will recap the championhip game and talk some baseball with Phil Elson.  We will also start talking seriously about this week's Masters and Arkansas Derby!

Thanks so much for listening to The Zone always coming to you from the Fureigh Electric Studio.
