THE DAY AFTER THE MASTERS
4/15/2013 1:20 PM
Well it was a busy start to the week, the show was mostly dominated by talk about the Master's. Christina Lecuyer was in studio and added her expert opinion on the weekends coverage. Being a Pro-Golfer herself she is able to add some insight, but being a Canadian she still talks kinda funny.
Clint Stoerner was in studio with us as well today to talk about the 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Classic at Red Apple Country Club the first weekend in May. Christina will be playing along with other celebrites like Ryan Mallett, Anthony Lucas, and KATV's Beth Hunt. If you would like to participate in the event you can call 501-955-3205. All profits from the event benefit the Community School of Cleburne County. You can also check out the website HERE.
In our Zone Segment of the Day, I express something that bugs me to no end every year when I watch the Masters. I am probably wrong on this and I am all for celebrating the low amateur, but is seems so out of whack that they have him sitting in Butler Cabin and they introduce and talk to him BEFORE they talk to the champion. I am all for honoring the spirit of The Masters and Bobby Jones, but there has to be another way.
Another thing that got under my skin was the slow play penalty against the 14 year old kid from China, Guan Tian Lang, which was stupid for several different reasons as I laid out here. I would have been impressed if they would have tried to pull that on one of the full-time PGA players who are slow instead of some poor kid who can't defend himself.
In to talk about a great event that benefits the Camp Aldersdate orginazation were Michael and Debbie Teague. The event is called "Carousel After Dark" and is a New Orleans themed fundraiser April 20th. You can find out more about the event and buy tickets HERE.
Coming up Tuesday, we will delve into the terrible tragedy in Boston and be joined by Jim Harris from SportingLifeArkansas.com. Also, Angela Harris to talk about Food and Foam Fest, Cory Biggs and Brad Martin from the First Tee of Central Arkansas and Chris Kramolis from Tropical Smoothie. Thanks for listening to THE ZONE from 10 to 1!
