Thursday in The Zone we were joined by Phil Elson. Phil is known around here as "Mr. Baseball" but he can still hang in an NBA conversation. We talk about the Lakers win with the help from Pau Gasol's triple double and preview the NBA playoffs.
In our Zone Segment of the Day, we talk about MLB and I bring up something that as a Cub's fan I had a problem with. Texas Rangers' Lance Berkman has called Wrigley Field "one of the worst places in Baseball." Lucky for me today, Phil was here to calm me down.
In to tell us all about this year's Riverfest was Deanna and along with her was Chris King from Revolution Music room and Stickey Fingerz. Today the announced the full music line up and there is something for everyone's taste from Darrius Rucker to Bush and Blackberry smoke to Kelly Rowland. Also in the line up is Peter Frampton, Dierks Bentley and many more.
Deanna and Chris stuck around and told us about the free transportation available so you don't have to park far away and walk and Chris told us some of the great upcoming acts that will be stopping through his establishments, including GWAR, who Big Baby is excited to see Sunday night. I just ask that he please wash the bodily fluids out of his hair before he comes to work Monday. You can find out more about the 2013 Riverfest by visiting their website HERE.
In for "Our House" was Meghan Collins to talk about the 8th Annual Dinner on the Grounds. Our House is a shelter for the working homeless and the success of Dinner on the Grounds goes towards an 8 week summer program for youth's who come from situations of abuse and neglect. The event is May 3rd on the sprawling lawn of the Historic Terry House and each ticket provides two weeks of Our House's summer program for one individual. You can find out more and buy tickets HERE.
