The Zone

10/11/2013 1:55 PM

Friday in The Zone we took a detour from sports for a segment and talked to a woman who worked closely with a little band known as The Beatles. Freda Kelly joined us in studio. She is the subject of a new documentary film showing at the Hot Springs Film Festival called Good Ol’ Freda. She was their secretary and fan club manager for their entire 10 year career together and after all these year’s has broken her silence about protecting John Lennon’s affairs and sleeping at Ringo Starr’s house. Joining Freda in studio was her daughter Rachel and the producer of the film Jessica Lawson.

Today we continue our college picks with our friends from NYPD Pizza but since today is the grand opening of The Blind Pig Bar and Grill we changed the name of the segment. The Blind Pig is right next door to NYPD Pizza and is an equally fantastic place to hang out.

Tomorrow the Hogs take on South Carolina Gamecocks in Fayetteville. On the show today we gave away two pairs of tickets to the game. In our Jim’s Razorback Pizza Report we also talk to Robbie Neiswanger from The Arkansas News Bureau about the game.

In this weeks Matt T. minute we tell you all about the new movies opening this weekend. This week we have a Romeo and Juliet remake with the girl with the uni-brow from True Grit, a Machete sequel and a pirate movie.

In our Zone Rewind (Bill Vickery's favorite segment) we look back at the best interview and show moments from the week.

We will be back on Monday live from The Little Rock Touchdown Club with special guest Mitch Mustain. We will recap the Hogs and Bears and much more. Have a safe weekend and thank you for listening to The Zone with Justin Acri weekdays from 10 to 1!
