It was a whirlwind week and a half for the UALR Trojans men's basketball team.  A couple weeks ago they were preparing for the SunBelt tourney in Hot Springs knowing they had to win 4 games in 4 days.  They did in style and made it interesting along the way.  Then, with a bid to the Big Dance they put themselves in position once again to play another day and advance to the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney.  But, UNC Ashville took advantage of a scoring drought and the absence of Sun Belt POY Soloman Bozeman dwon the stretch and couldn't hold on to the rails of victory in Dayton for the First Four.  Bozeman fouled and and UALR didn't have the go-to guy who has come through so many times for them in the past to do one more time.

Congrats to Steve Shields and the rest of the program for what they did achieve.  They will reap the benefits of this run for years to come.  When they hit the recruiting road the pitch will now include a trip to the NCAA tourney.  It shows what can be done at UALR.  Momentum is on the Trojan's side and with a strong recruiting class coming in next season there's no doubt they have an opportunity to build on this.  The goal is to position yourself to not have to win the conference tournament to be in the NCAA's.
