2 Razorback Baseball Players ink with White Sox

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Collin Kuhn and Kyle Robinson are set to begin their professional baseball careers as the pair have signed professional contracts with the Chicago White Sox.
Kuhn was the White Sox’s 17th round selection with the 531st overall pick, while Robinson was drafted in the 28th round with the 861st overall pick. The pair will begin their professional careers with the Bristol White Sox, Chicago’s rookie league team in Bristol, Va. Kuhn and Robinson join Jarrod McKinney as Razorback players that were drafted that have signed professional contracts. McKinney inked his deal with the Houston Astros last week.
An outfielder from Beaver Dam, Wis., Kuhn played in 56 games, including 55 starts, during the 2011 season and finished the year with a .282 batting average, seven home runs and 41 RBI. Kuhn finished second on the team in homers, third in RBI and was also second with 22 stolen bases. Defensively, Kuhn didn’t commit an error on the season while playing in both center and left field. Kuhn handled all 147 chances in the field and had six outfield assists. Kuhn played in 179 games as a Razorback and made 166 starts. He closed his collegiate career with a .297 batting average, 26 homers, 112 RBI and 50 stolen bases.
An infielder/outfielder from Boynton Beach, Fla., Robinson enjoyed his best offensive season as a Razorback in 2011, playing in 60 games, with 56 starts, and hitting .286 with a team-high 10 homers and 49 RBI, which ranked second on the team. Robinson also led the team in total bases (108) and slugging percentage (.507). A two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Week selection and a member of the SEC All-Tournament Team, Robinson had 19 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games, finishing second on the team in both categories. Robinson played in 66 games and made 60 starts during his two years in Fayetteville and compiled a .291 batting average with 10 homers and 54 RBI.
