Primetime at the Palace set for Friday, October 14

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Pieces of the 2011-12 University of Arkansas men’s basketball preseason schedule were settled on Wednesday with the announcement of two exhibition contests and “Primetime at the Palace,” Arkansas’ version of Midnight Madness.
The season officially kicks off on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m., when Arkansas’ men’s and women’s basketball teams participate in “Primetime at the Palace.” While an event schedule has not been finalized at this time, activities include introductions of each Razorback, friendly competitions and short practice sessions. “Primetime at the Palace” is free to the public.
The men’s first exhibition game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m., when Arkansas is set to play Texas A&M-Commerce at Bud Walton Arena. The Lions were 18-9 a year ago and return two of their top three scorers including Desmond King who averaged 16.1 points and 7.0 rebounds in 26 games.
Arkansas’ second exhibition contest of the season sees Memphis based Christian Brothers Univ. travel to Fayetteville on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. Christian Brothers finished the 2010-11 season with a 17-11 record and return a senior laden lineup to the court this season.
Season tickets for the 2011-12 Arkansas basketball season are currently on sale at the Razorback Ticket Center and online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
