FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Fans have multiple opportunities this weekend to help University of Arkansas student-athletes collect food for the fifth annual Southeastern Conference's Together We CAN drive.
Food bins will be located Friday night at the entrance of Razorback Field for the soccer match against Ole Miss and in the lobby of Barnhill Arena for volleyball’s match against Mississippi State. Both events begin at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 24, Razorback student-athletes, including members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, will be collecting canned food items from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at four Harps Grocery Store locations (Wedington Drive, Garland Ave., College Ave. and Crossover and Mission Road) in Fayetteville.
The 17-day SEC Together We CAN food drive is being held on the campus of each SEC member institution and will run until Oct. 2. Throughout the food drive, collecting bins will be located in the lobby of the Lewis Center, Barnhill Arena and the Broyles Athletic Center. Fans may drop their canned goods in the bins during normal business hours. All items collected will go to support local food banks.
The SEC Together We CAN drive is being held in conjunction with the University of Arkansas' World Food Day efforts which runs from Sept. 16 - Oct. 16. All donated food will be matched on a 10-to-1 basis up to 60,000 pounds by Tyson Foods, Inc., and donated to the Full Circle Campus Food Pantry and the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.
