FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas is proud to announce former Razorback quarterback Clint Stoerner as the A Club honorary captain for the Arkansas-Tennessee football game on Nov. 12.
Stoerner was a four-year letterwinner for the Razorback football team, including serving as a team captain during the 1999 season.
Stoerner enjoyed his best season as a Razorback in 1998 when he helped the team to a 9-3 record and a share of the SEC Western Division title. Stoerner finished 1998 with 2,629 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. In his senior season in 1999, Stoerner threw for 2,293 yards and 19 touchdowns. A two-time All-Southeastern Conference selection, Stoerner ranks highly on several UA career records list. Stoerner threw for 7,422 yards and 57 touchdowns in his career, both of which rank second in school history. He holds the school record for career completions (528) and pass attempts (1,023). Stoerner was selected as the quarterback on the Arkansas all-decade team for the ‘90s.
Following his collegiate career, Stoerner went on to play four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and one season with the Miami Dolphins. Stoerner also played in NFL Europe with the Scottish Claymores.
The A Club honorary captain is recognized before each home game for their outstanding accomplishments on the field during their Razorback career. Each captain will be available for a brief autograph session at the AT&T Fan Zone at The Gardens prior to each game. Before kickoff, they will be recognized and will accompany the captains to midfield for the coin toss.
