A Bielema Tuesday
12/4/2012 5:30 PM
What a day on Overtime with Matt Jones and Trey Schaap. If you have missed any of the interviews from the past couple of days, here is a recap.
Friday we talked with the head coaches from the 4 teams that played for a state championship Saturday. Rick Jones, Daryl Patton, Bobby Bolding, and Barry Luney. We also had Freaky Joe Franklin's picks of the week.
Today we talked with Kelly Hines of the Tulsa World when it was reported that Mike Gundy would be the next coach at Arkansas. Soon after setting up our chat with Kelly, we found out that Bret Bielema would be the next head coach at Arkansas so we spoke to Tom Mulhern of the Wisconsin State Journal to get his thoughts on Bielema.
About the time that we were able to get our heads around what Jeff Long was able pull off, word came out that Gus Malzhan was leaving Arkansas State to return to Auburn where he was once the Offensive Coordinator to become the head Tiger. James Bryant of A-State Nation broke the story. We also talked with Mark Murphy of Inside the Auburn Tigers to get the Auburn side of the story.
And last but not least we were happy that Notre Dame Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator Bob Diaco was able to join us after he was named the 2012 winner of the Broyles Award.
Tune in tomorrow when we will have reaction from Arkansas and Oklahoma in Hoops and your thoughts on Bret Bielema being named Head Coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
