Arkansas track headed to The Big Apple

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 7 Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field will continue the 2010 indoor season with the New Balance Collegiate Invitational, at the Armory Track Center, in New York, N.Y., Fri.-Sat., Feb. 5-6.
Boston College, BYU, Connecticut, Duke, Georgetown, Houston, No. 4 LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, No. 9 Oklahoma, Princeton, Rutgers, Seton Hall, No. 18 South Carolina, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Texas, No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 15 Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Villanova and No. 17 Virginia Tech will be competing with the Hogs at the Armory Track Center Friday and Saturday.

The Razorbacks are seated at No. 7 in the current USTFCCCA poll, including seven SEC teams total. The LSU Tigers are No. 4, the Florida Gators are fifth, the South Carolina Gamecocks are 18th, the Auburn Tigers are No. 20, the Kentucky Wildcats are No. 21 and the Georgia Bulldogs are No. 22.
Arkansas student-athletes hold the leading marks in the SEC in the 800 meters (Drew Butler), the 3,000 meters (Dorian Ulrey), the 5,000 meters (Lane Boyer) and the distance medley relay (Butler, Ben Skidmore, Chris Bilbrew, Ulrey). Ulrey’s mark in the 3,000 meters (7:55.23) is also the NCAA leader.
The Razorbacks currently hold eight NCAA provisional qualifiers: Butler in the 800 meters, Ulrey, senior Scott MacPherson and sophomore Lane Boyer in the 3,000 meters, freshman Brede Raa Ellingsen in the high jump, senior Alain Bailey and sophomore Tarik Batchelor in the long jump and sophomore Terry Prentice in the heptathlon.
