Post Race Show
4/28/2009 2:15 AM
Sunday went pretty much as expected, being that it was a day after the much anticipated Rocket 5k that Bill and I participated in. For those of you that were not able to listen to the show on Sunday, Bill won the match-up between the two of us running a time of 26:30. Due to being extremely injured at the 2 mile marker (I'm starting to think Bill really paid that kid off), I ran the course in 28:30.
Bill continued to gloat throughout the show, and has decided that I will stand on the corner of Cantrell and Kavanaugh with a sign that reads "BRING BACK HOUSTON NUTT." Now frankly I don't think that will go over well with people that don't know the situation, but I guess I have to follow through with the bet.
Besides talking about the race the entire show, we did cover some topics that meant something to society. How about President Obama's economic advisor Larry Summers falling asleep during his speech at a meeting!!! Is it any wonder that people question the, um, suitability of certain people advising President Obama?
We also talked about the widespan outbreak of the swine flu in Mexico. This is has turned into a pretty critical situation and hopefully it doesn't spread this way. Stay tuned to the Sunday Buzz for updated information.
If you weren't able to catch the JT fight, it was one of his most dissappointing defeats in some time. JT had the fight won on 2 scorecards and all he had to do was sit back and coast. Things went downhill in the 12th round because Carl Froch came alive and gave JT a beating, in which sealed the deal for Froch. He won by TKO. This became a touchy subject with the callers in that everyone seems content with blaming the past losses to not having Pat Burns in JT's corner. Weather or not that is true, one thing is for certain, JT just doesn't have the stamina to fight the bigger guys.
Until next Sunday, thanks for listening and reading
